For my Grandpa's 5 year death anniversary, I added beading to this apron that was my grandfathers, which was gifted to me after his passing. On top is a portrait of him and I when I was a baby. The bottom right pocket (the flower) is based on hungarian designs. The inside of the flower with the three yellow and green stems are meant to represent my Grandfathers children (my mother and my two aunt).  The pink incasing it is to represent me, and the five blue petals are to represent my brothers. This pocket will be added onto when my brothers and I have children. The left  pocket includes hungarian designs with hammers, screws, wrenches included to further represnet my grandfathers interests. In the center of the left pocket design is my grandfathers artist signature.

In August 2023, my estranged grandparents, who were dedicated police officers, met a tragic end in an unforeseen accident. Their sudden demise stirred a complex tapestry of emotions within me—shock at the gruesome nature of their passing, a profound yearning to embrace the moments I could have shared with them, and a desire to turn back time and extend forgiveness for past grievances. The artworks I've crafted serve as poignant reflections, capturing fragments of cherished memories with a desperate attempt to resurrect the positive moments. Despite over a decade of abandonment and disownment, I endeavor to focus on the positive aspects, constructing these pieces as a solemn monument to the potential of a relationship forsaken. They stand as a testament to what could have transpired—a narrative of familial bonds missed and opportunities foregone by my grandparents.
